Completely Without Merit

Courts are rejecting Trump and his co-conspirators efforts to use unsound legal theories and delay tactics to prevent legal accountability.

Trump’s coup attorney Kenneth Chesebro was blocked from having his case severed from co-defendant in the Georgia racketeering criminal case. Then, Trump lost a summary judgement when the judge ruled that Trump is liable for continuing to deny that he sexually assaulted e. Jean Caroll. And, a third judge rejected Trump’s efforts to delay the October 2nd business fraud trial saying Trump’s arguments are “completely without merit.”

The Cost of Sedition

Enrique Tarrio and the leaders of the white supremacist group the Proud Boys were given lengthily prison sentences for seditious conspiracy and other crimes related to the January 6 Attack on the Capitol.

During the September 29, 2020 presidential debate, Donald Trump refused to condemn white supremacist groups and instead told the Proud Boys to "Stand back and stand by." 104 days later, the Proud Boys lead the attack on on the U.S. Capitol after Trump told his supporters to come to the "Big protests in D.C. on January 6th," promising it "will be wild!" FBI Director Christopher said, “Today’s sentencing demonstrates that those who attempted to undermine the workings of American democracy will be held criminally accountable.”

Inmate P01135809 Vows to "Never Surrender"

Trump and his 18 co-defendants have all surrendered at the Fulton County Jail and booked on 41 felony counts including racketeering and election fraud.

Donald Trump (AKA Inmate P01135809) continues to market his four criminal indictments to raise money for his political campaign with lies about election fraud, deep state conspiracy theories, and even his self-reported height and weight on his booking form. Within hours of surrendering to authorities, Trump ironically started selling "Never Surrender," merchandise featuring his Fulton County Jail mugshot.

It's Trump's Party, and He'll Lie if He Wants To

With a 40 point lead, Donald Trump sat out the GOP Presidential Debate to repeat election lies and grievances in a taped interview with Tucker Carlson.

After 2 hours of debate, the 8 GOP Presidential candidates failed to offer any alternative to Trump's dark vision for America. The GOP candidates took turns angrily blaming Democrats, people of color, the queer community, and even teachers without offering any policy solutions except banning abortion and cutting taxes.

"An Out of Touch Lunatic"

With special counsel Jack Smith proposing that one of his three trials occur during the anniversary of the Jan. 6 Insurrection, Trump is acting like an animal trapped in a cage.

The former president's latest Truth Social post reeks of manic desperation saying, “Only an out of touch lunatic would ask for such a date, ONE DAY into the New Year, and maximum Election Interference with IOWA! Such a trial, which should never take place due to my First Amendment Rights, and massive BIDEN CORRUPTION, should only happen, if at all, AFTER THE ELECTION...” Coupled with Smith finally getting his hands on Trump's twitter data, it seems like the special counsel has clearly struck a nerve.

Free Speech DOES NOT Excuse Sedition

Trump's lawyers are in a bind. The only defense they're leaning on is the right to freedom of speech.

In a desperate grasp for any kind of defense of his seditious activity, Trump's team has sunk to using the most non-sensical argument yet. Trump will soon find out that free speech does not protect criminal activity. "There is no First Amendment privilege to commit crimes just because you did it by speaking," as former federal prosecutor Samuel Buell stated.

An Unprecedented Assault on Democracy

Trump and six uncharged co-conspirators knowingly lied about mass voter fraud as part of a detailed plan "to remain in power," despite knowing he had lost the election.

The four-count federal indictment includes conspiring to defraud the United States, conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding, attempting to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiring against people’s civil right to have their vote counted. The indictment accuses Trump of orchestrating "an unprecedented assault on the seat of American democracy.”

Doubling Down on Documents Charges

The special counsel has added new charges on one of Trump's four ongoing investigations. The 37 criminal counts on the Classified Documents Case will now be 40.

When a third separate indictment about Trump's plot to overturn the 2020 election was expected, special counsel Jack Smith, instead, doubled down on a previous indictment. New evidence has been found that shows intentional acts on Trump's part to obstruct the recovery of the stolen classified documents he stashed in Mar-a-Lago. Specifically, IT and maintenance crew employees were forced to delete 45 days of security footage.

Third Indictment Looming

Donald Trump's lawyers met with special counsel Jack Smith after receiving a letter last week notifying Trump that he was the target of an investigation on the plan to overturn the 2020 election.

Although no indictments were charged on Thursday, this will be the third separate case charging Trump when indictments are returned. All signs are pointing to a bad outcome for the former president. From Rudy Guiliani, Trump's former lawyer, admitting to lying about election fraud in Georgia; to Mark Meadows, Trump's former chief of staff, cooperating with the federal Jan. 6 investigation.

Michigan's Seditious Sixteen

Biden won Michigan by 154,000 votes, but that did not stop 16 fake electors who conspired to overturn the election by forging election certificates that falsely claimed Trump won the 2020 election.

Trump's most loyal supporters often end up in jail. Eleven of his top associates have been criminally indicted and over a 1,000 January 6 rioters have been arrested. Now add 16 GOP fake electors charged with 8 felony counts for submitting to the U.S. Senate and the National Archives forged election law documents falsely claiming that Trump won the state and that they were Michigan's electors “duly organized” and in “the manner provided by law.”

FBI Delayed Trump Investigation

Top DOJ and FBI officials feared appearing partisan and blocked early proposals to investigate Trump and his allies for more than a year.

One full year after the January 6 Insurrection, only four prosecutors were assigned to investigate Trump. This long delay prevented agents from interviewing key witnesses and securing evidence such as email and phone records. Only after being publicly embarrassed by the House January 6 Committee and investigative journalists, did the DOJ leadership determine there was sufficient evidence to investigate Trump directly. Jack Smith was appointed as special counsel in November of 2022.

The Emperor Has No Clothes

On Tuesday, June 13th, Donald Trump was arrested and booked in a Miami federal court but his promised protesters failed to show up.

Trump is still the frontrunner to be the Republican nominee, but after being arrested twice and facing multiple criminal investigations, his grip on the Republican party may be slipping. Trump called for “protest, protest, protest,” at his Miami criminal booking, but only a handful of his supporters bothered to show. GOP political insiders are privately worried that Trump’s legal problems will hurt them in the 2024 elections and some Republican leaders are starting to publicly speak out, including Rep. Don Bacon who said of Trump, “I just think the emperor has no clothes.”

Trump and GOP Promise Political Violence

Experts on political violence warn that GOP leaders issuing public threats encourages deadly attacks on public figures and institutions by violent extremists.

In the wake of the 37 count federal indictment, Donald Trump and his Republican supporters are calling for "War" and threatening public officials and the news media with gun violence. Rep. Andy Biggs tweeted, "Eye for an eye." Trump's future daughter in-law, Kimberly Guilfoyle, posted on Instagram Trump's photo with "RETRIBUTION IS COMING." And failed Arizona candidate, Kari Lake directly threatened the President, the DOJ, and the news media with gun violence adding “That’s not a threat, that’s a public service announcement.”

Will Meadows Testify Against Trump?

The Department of Justice may be close to asking a grand jury to indict Trump for obstruction of justice and violating the Espionage Act.

Trump's former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has been cooperating with the special prosecutor and may have cut a plea deal in exchange for testifying against his former boss. The January 6 Committee previously revealed that Meadows asked Trump for a pardon. Other revelations include that a second grand jury has been hearing testimony in Florida and that over two dozen secret service agents assigned to Trump have been interviewed by the special prosecutor.

Republicans Embrace Political Violence

Since Trump was first elected in 2016, violent threats against members of Congress have increased more than 10 times.

Trump's Republican Party has fully embraced a biblical culture war that is mainstreaming hate speech used by Christian nationalists and white supremacists who believe that armed confrontation with the U.S. government is inevitable. A majority of Republicans now support violence to stop the decline of the “traditional American way of life,” and “declaring the US a Christian nation”.

Trump's Army Convicted of Sedition

Four Proud Boys were found guilty of seditious conspiracy as part of the violent attack on January 6 to keep Donald Trump in power.

This is the third separate trial where jurors conclude that the January 6 Insurrection was an organized conspiracy to overturn our democracy. During the 2020 campaign, Trump famously told the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by" during a nationally televised debate with Joe Biden. Then after Trump lost the election, he tweeted “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th” and “Be there, will be wild!” During their trial, the Proud Boys blamed Trump who told his supporters to “fight like hell” and then sent them to march on the Capitol.

There are some things money can't buy, but not having to issue a public apology for lying about the 2020 election will cost Fox News $787.5 million.

In an 11th hour settlement with Dominion Voting Systems, Fox News agreed to pay $787.5 million in damages to avoid the humiliation of having their election lies exposed in a public trial. Fox avoided a public apology this time, but still faces a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit from Smartmatic that has vowed to expose the “misconduct and damage caused by Fox’s disinformation campaign.”

The two black state legislators from the Tennessee Three have been reinstated despite being expelled by their colleagues for standing with a youth-led protest for gun reform—days after another deadly school shooting.

Republican politicians have been out of touch with the values of the average American these days, the reinstatement of the two Justins is just another example of this. The public's backlash exemplified the success and power of student activism against the GOP's antidemocratic racist extremism.

A Public Political Lynching

Tennessee Republicans expelled two black state lawmakers of the Tennessee Three for supporting student protesters calling for gun reform.

The Tennessee Three are state lawmakers who joined student protesters fighting for gun reform. Rep. Justin Pearson and Justin Jones, the two black members of the Tennessee Three were expelled from the state legislature by GOP lawmakers, while one of their colleagues, a white woman, was spared—but only just. In a state where race is often a proxy for partisan affiliation, this development has especially dire implications for Black officials. Jones rightfully stated, "What we saw yesterday was a public lynching, let’s be real, and it was meant to set an example... But we did not bow down. And that’s what I think has them really upset, is that we didn’t break. We didn’t bow down. They want us to feel broken, but we left with our fists up in the air, because we knew that this was not the end, that they may expel us, but they can’t expel our movements. And that’s what terrifies them... And we see clearly, the nation has seen clearly what is going on in Tennessee.”
