Republicans Defend Trump’s Abuse of Power

The Trump Presidency is defined by his lies, corruption, and his abuse of power. Anyone perceived to be disloyal to the president is publicly attacked and even fired by tweet. Trump’s inner circle is rocked by criminal indictments and convictions. And even after Trump is caught on tape illegally pressuring a foreign government to investigate his political rival, Republicans refuse to hold him accountable.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday impeached President Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, making him the third president in history to be charged with committing high crimes and misdemeanors and face removal by the Senate … Republicans were united in opposition. It passed 230 to 197, with Speaker Nancy Pelosi gaveling the vote to a close from the House rostrum.
